Barr, Nevada

Nevada Barr is an author and artist born in Yerington, Nevada. In 1954, she moved with her family to Susanville in California where she grew up. Her parents ran a small airfield – both her parents as well as her sister were pilots – and Nevada Barr passed her flying certificate as a teenager. She attended Mercy High School at Red Bluff until 1969, and California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, graduating in 1974. She went on to take master’s degree in drama at the University of California, Irvine.
