Suzanne Collins is an American author of books for children and young adults. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut. Her father worked for the Air Force, which meant that the family moved a lot, and her father did a tour in Vietnam. Collins studied drama and has a degree in script-writing from New York University. She has written for children’s television since 1991 and she is the co-writer of the popular young adult shows Clarissa Explains It All and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. She now lives with her husband and two children in Newtown, Connecticut.
