The British author John Creasey has been described as a productive literary phenomenon. According to the experts, around 530 novels have been published under his own name and 28 different pseudonyms. In 1937 alone, he published 29 new titles. He was best known for his crime stories, but he also wrote spy and agent thrillers, science fiction, westerns, romances, adventure stories and about 40 books for children and young adults. He was also the author and co-author of political non-fiction and polemic works. However, he wrote very few short stories.
