Swedish author and journalist, born in Gothenburg but moved with her family to Roslagen as an adult. In 1962-74 Marianne Fredriksson was the editor-in-chief of Allt i hemmet, a magazine she also helped to start. She was also one of the initiators of the magazines Vi föräldrar and Allt om mat, and in 1968 she received The Journalistic award (Stora Journalistpriset) for her innovative work. Fredriksson was also affiliated with Svenska Dagbladet, where in the 70’s she was the one who started the Today page, a popular page with articles discussing human issues of a spiritual, psychological, and philosophical character at length. Her career as a journalist lasted forty years.
