Lundkvist, Artur

Swedish author, poet, and critic, and a member of the Swedish academy, born and raised in Oderljunga in the county of Kristianstad. His parents were farmers. Lundkvist moved away from home in 1924. He spent some time in Copenhagen in 1925 and went to Stockholm the next year, at the age of twenty. The capital became his home city for the rest of his life. In 1936, he married the author Maria Wine. Their marriage lasted until Lundkvist’s decease in 1991. They had no children.
