Dror Mishani is an Israeli crime writer, born and raised in the Tel Aviv suburb of Holon. He is also a translator, literary scholar and a lecturer at Tel Aviv University, and he has written and produced TV series as well. He lives in Tel Aviv with his wife Marta, who is originally from Poland, and their two children. Marta Mishani holds a doctorate in Hebrew literature and lectured in Warsaw before later moving to Cambridge, where the plan had been for Dror Mishani to complete a doctoral thesis of his own on detective fiction. Instead of writing a thesis, however, he wrote his debut detective novel, The Missing File (2011, Tik ne'edar) in Hebrew.
