Nicholas Rhea is a pseudonym for Peter Norman Walker, a British author and former police officer who has written over a hundred books, most of them about or set in Yorkshire. Best-known are his Constable books, on which the television series Heartbeat, which aired between 1992 and 2010, was based. It was the most popular television series shown in the UK for a number of years.
