Schirach, Ferdinand von

German lawyer and writer Ferdinand von Schirach (b. 1964) was born in Munich to a wealthy family in the nobility. He grew up in Trossingen, living with his mother’s kin until the age of 10, when he was sent to the catholic boarding school at St. Blasien. After graduation he left the church. He went through his military service and then studied law at the University of Bonn in 1987–1991. Since the mid 1990s, von Schirach has been living in Berlin, working as a defense counsel and lawyer.
